Battle Against Sexual Exploitation Gains Powerful New Partners
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam | In its life-or-death struggle against abuse and sexual exploitation, Hope Unending has new help, bringing new hope to women and children in Vietnam. Since March, this retooled battle plan has been maximizing effectiveness with powerful new allies.
First, the closing of one door—government collaboration—has opened a door to greater partnership with the Assemblies of God, including Asia’s Little Ones. This support is more crucial than ever.
Second, local workers are being intensively trained to implement prevention programs, recognize and teach others to recognize abuse, rescue and counsel victims, and provide and oversee safe spaces for rescued women and children. The Vietnamese are astute learners and hard workers, and the training of these local workers will allow for the growth and expansion of Hope Unending’s critical prevention, rescue, and restoration work.
Third, a renewed emphasis on training men to play a more active role in community activities that protect women and children has great potential to strike a powerful blow against this devouring darkness of exploitation.
Fourth, friends of ALO are playing a vital role in making victims whole again or preventing abuse and exploitation. Perhaps you are the only hope one Vietnamese woman or child has. Your prayers for the women, children, and workers — along with your financial backing — can turn the tide of battle for good.
