Ana: Loving Others More Than Comfort and Safety

“Bravery is loving God and others more than your own safety or comfort.”

Ana is a nurse who works with Childcare Community Ministry Philippines (CCMP), a feeding and education program that brings lasting changes to malnourished children and impoverished families and communities. Under severe restrictions in 2020 due to the pandemic, Ana and the others found creative ways to work around the lockdowns. Here is her testimony:

During the pandemic, churches closed, and many people were really living in fear. I was stricken with anxiety attacks because I am prone to allergies because of asthma. It was a struggle, but praise God, I was able to overcome my fear when I stayed away from social media and news and focused more on prayer.

CCMP started distributing relief supplies, and I started having second thoughts about being out. I was careful, but I didn’t let it stop me. It was very rewarding to see people smile and feel their gratitude when I brought them groceries. So many of them were struggling and out of work. Fear can stop you from helping others, but you have to trust God for His protection and His great mercy.
