Helping Children Betters Their Country

Sokmean and Joseph, both sons of poor Vietnamese Buddhist farmers, floundered in overcrowded, underfunded rural public schools, barely able to read or write. But then their parents learned of a new school opening in Battambang City—Salaa Hope. Because of their great need, both boys were accepted. They thrived socially, spiritually, and academically. In a country where only around 20 percent of potential students enroll in high school* and only about 10 percent start post-secondary education, Sokmean and Joseph were able to graduate from college with the help of Salaa Hope and friends like you.

Sokmean got a degree in Agriculture from Batambang University. He lives with his teacher’s family so he can work weekdays as an administrator at a Battambang NGO rehabilitation project. On weekends, he goes back to the farm to help his family and care for his crops.

Joseph provides technical support at an Internet company in Phnom Penh. He attends church and is so blessed! Your generous gifts can change lives forever.
