No Better Time: A Time to Heal

Happy Horizons Children’s Ranch

Children come to HHCR to heal from the damage and pain of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. It’s not an easy task. It requires motivation, hard work, and lots of loving and patient assistance. There is great progress —inspiring, miraculous, life-changing progress. One case in point: this year, the school became fully accredited with the Department of Education—a huge accomplishment worth celebrating! The kids and teachers are thrilled.

“Our social workers and house parents are committed and caring,” director Kelli Williford explains. “They are willing to put forth extra effort for the children. The program is strong. We are all excited for the future. God is providing what we need when we need it, and it is beautiful and encouraging to see.”

But the price of that exciting progress and healing continues to rise. HHCR’s power bill, which used to average $1,000 a month, now regularly tops $1,500. The costs of gas, food, and supplies have similarly increased, and staff salaries can’t be stretched any more to keep up with the rising costs of caring for their families. Something has to give. Might that be you?

When God asks you what you did when you learned of sex-trafficked children needing rescue and healing, how will you respond?
