Why is ALO Committed to Feeding Hungry Children?
Because Jesus said…
34 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things. 35 By this time it was late in the day, so his disciples came to him. “This is a remote place,” they said, “and it’s already very late. 36 Send the people away so that they can go to the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat.” 37 But he answered,
“You give them something to eat.”
They said to him, “That would take more than half a year’s wages! Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?” 38 “How many loaves do you have?” he asked. “Go and see.” When they found out, they said, “Five—and two fish.” 39 Then Jesus directed them to have all the people sit down in groups on the green grass. 40 So they sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties. 41 Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. 42 They all ate and were satisfied. (Mark 6:34–42 NIV)

Every child nourished physically through one of Community Compassion Ministries Philippines’s (CCMP’s) feeding stations for malnourished children is also nourished mentally and spiritually. Children—and their mothers—are taught about nutrition, health, and a God who loves them.

How long has it been since your last good meal? Some children ALO seeks to help feed can never remember a time when their empty bellies were filled with enough good food. The time is short for some of these children. With your dollars, ALO assists programs that go to remote places where it is already very late for too many malnourished children.
37 But he answered, “You give them something to eat.” They said to him, “That would take more than half a year’s wages! Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?” 38 “How many loaves do you have?” he asked. “Go and see.”
“You expect me to do WHAT? But there are so many hungry children, God. How much do you ask of me?” God’s answer? “How much do you have?” God asks each of us to give what we are able. Anything He has given us that we are willing to give back to Him for the sake of feeding others, He will multiply and use for His glory.
“Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” (John 6:9 NIV)
No one is too young or too old to be used by God. No one has too little to make a difference. Many times workers’ hearts have been touched as they see desperately hungry children save half of the food they are given for a sister or brother at home. Surely we have something we can share as well.

When are thankful, give what we have, and look to heaven for the Lord to bless it, a marvelous thing happens. Little becomes much, and everyone is satisfied—the children’s happy tummies, your own full heart, and our heavenly Father, who loves to see His children showing love for each other.
When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” (John 6:12 NIV)
Asia’s Little Ones is committed to being good stewards of every gift you give to feed hungry children. We make sure ministries we help are operating with the highest levels of integrity, efficiency, and good stewardship.
That’s why, when you give to ALO, you get the highest possible return on your investment. In contrast to some charities that spend 65 cents or more of every dollar on administrative costs, ALO sends 95 cents out of each dollar of your designated gift directly to help the kids.
Thousands of children are hungry. Through ALO, it’s within your power to help feed them. What do you have that God may be asking you to share? Is it the price of your lunch? That unexpected bonus? A larger-than-hoped-for tax return? Some windfall? Will you give up your daily Starbucks treat?
