Life Center

Sensitive Country

Mission:

To provide a safe place for at-risk children from impoverished families to receive hot meals, school supplies, and scholarships to attend public school, discipleship classes, English instruction, and skills training.

Since 2005, Life Center has been a beacon of hope in the remote mountains of a sensitive country in Peninsular Asia. This year, they are helping 100 students from impoverished communities who struggle to scratch out a hard living. Life Center creates a safe place for such students to reach their full potential in Christ and to avoid the risks of exploitation. They receive hot meals daily, discipleship classes, school supplies, and scholarships, since even public school is not free. They also have opportunities to learn English and to train for skilled jobs. The goal of Life Center is to see children and teens come to faith, graduate high school, and lift their families and communities out of spiritual and physical poverty—one child at a time.

Target for 2024: $22,000

Breakdown: 100 scholarships at $220 each

Additional Details: Life Center has been instrumental in discipling and developing church leaders in this sensitive country whose religion is predominately Buddhist and Animist. The country is closed to the gospel. Even though there is not an established, recognized church to support the ministry, Life Center is working toward being as self-sustaining as possible through the Business as Missions platform of a language center and student cafe.

Pray:

Pray for the ministry and for believers to stand strong in the midst of difficulty and persecution. Pray that as more people come to faith in Christ, they will be allowed to openly gather and worship, and that the church will be firmly established and recognized.
