Chiang Kham Scholarships

Thailand

Mission:

To provide scholarships so poor children can attend a Christian school that is highly regarded in the community and has a proven academic track record.

Chiang Kham Christian School (CKCS) is one of the very few Christian schools in Thailand. As the country is almost 95% Buddhist, other schooling options are saturated in Buddhism. Each year, ALO promises to fund 30 scholarships to enable students to attend a school with a strong academic and Christian curriculum. Roughly one-third of the children given scholarships are orphans from Romyen Children’s Home, another third are children of pastors and church planters, and the rest are children from low-income families in the community.

Target for 2024: $13,620

Breakdown: 30 scholarships at $454 each

Additional Details: Chiang Kham Christian School operates under the oversight of Compassion of Christ Mission Foundation and is a part of the Thai Assemblies of God. Unlike public schools that are usually built on the property of Buddhist temples, CKCS is the meeting place of a local church on Sundays. It hosts various Christian prayer meetings and discipleship groups after school throughout the week.
